About us
The UQAM Chair for the Study of Intimate, Conjugal and Love Relationships (ERICA) is an interdisciplinary, collaborative (national and international) research infrastructure, that carries out a variety of projects, research initiatives, training courses, colloquia, conferences and more. As research cluster on transformations in intimate, conjugal and loving relationships, the ERICA Chair strives to promote dialogue and enhance the value of the scientific knowledge produced.
Its main objectives are to :
- Document and analyze the variety of individual attitudes towards a plurality of normative reference points, ideals and contemporary intimate configurations in the general Canadian population;
- Understand the ways in which these reference marks and ideals are translated, negotiated and modulated in intimate practices located in everyday social reality;
- Raise awareness of the challenges of intimate diversity among institutional, professional and community stakeholders, the media and the general public, and position ourselves as a key intermediary for these social players, to support ongoing societal changes in the intimate sphere.
