Chair

Chiara Piazzesi
Born in Italy, where I completed my university studies, I lived and worked in France, Germany and Brazil before moving to Canada to begin my career at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
I studied philosophy and sociology, and have published a number of books, articles, book chapters and international conferences.
My research interests include intimate relationships, feminist and gender issues, digital practices and digital sociability.
I’m a great believer in disseminating knowledge beyond the borders of the university, which is why I often speak to Canada’s leading French-language media.
You’ll find me and my work on my official l’UQAM page, on Facebook, Twitter, Academia.edu, ResearchGate.
In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, reading books, playing classical guitar and playing sports (I’m a certified YMCA personal trainer).
